*In Mr. Regular's Voice*- 2016 Porsche Cayman GT4, the official car of lap time fetishists and heel toe heroes everywhere.
This car has me and most other Jalops all kinds of excited. Porsche has finally decided to say "scheiß drauf", throw caution to the wind and dial the crazy all the way up on the Cayman. I've driven the GTS on a track, it's fucking fantastic but I certainly wouldn't have minded another 45hp because like all of us millennials, I'm totally spoiled and power hungry.
In addition to being a fan of the car, I'm also a fan of its first commercial. It's funny but not funny haha, like funny in the way that a comedian who does strictly observational humor about airports is funny. The humor isn't exactly clever or original, but it's there and most people will chuckle, albeit a very mild chuckle. Given that Germans aren't exactly known for their sense of humor, its not exactly surprising that this spot isn't a laugh fest for the ages.
I'd actually love to see the version of this in which the wealthy punks who drive the GT4 wake up the old people when leaving on a pre-dawn drive or honk at the kid to get out of the street because they're late for a meeting at their architecture firm. But I guess that'd be missing the point and one of many reasons why I'm not directing Porsche commercials, even though I'd be fucking great at it. At least I'd have the good sense to make sure to 86 the dramatic music and have the final act be an auditory celebration of that 3.8L flat six crying out in joy.
Cheers.
Andrew Maness writes about cars because he has one and also has a computer. He's been known to drunkenly Tweet as

I'm in love with the car too. I drove a PDK GTS on the street and fell in love with it; 45 more hp and I'm sure less weight, with a manual trans will be something else..
